About Us

Our audiologists and staff are committed to providing personalized and caring services for the prevention, identification and rehabilitation of hearing loss. They always take the time to explain the patient’s hearing loss and treatment options, along with discussing any concerns or answering questions the patient may have. Every hearing evaluation is specific to each individual patient’s hearing loss, lifestyle and needs. This is why Advanced Hearing Center offers a wide variety of hearing instruments from different manufacturers to insure each patient receives the very best option for their hearing treatment.

Our sound suite is a double wall booth, which allows for the most accurate test results. The latest technology is used for all hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings. Our Video Otoscope System allows the audiologist and patient to view a live color image of the ear canal and eardrum.

At Advanced Hearing Center, we care for the whole person, not just the ear. We believe a hearing patient is a happy patient.

Charitable Contributions

Advanced Hearing Center is dedicated to donating their time to children who’s families do not have the funds to purchase hearing aids and do not have assistance from their health insurance towards audiological services.

We work hard with the local school districts to collect donations and provide our audiological services at no cost in order to help give these children a chance to develop normal communication skills and prevent any delay in their education.

What is an audiologist?

An audiologist is a healthcare professional specializing in identifying, diagnosing, treating and monitoring disorders of the auditory and vestibular portions of the ear. They are also trained to manage and/or treat hearing problems. An audiologist can help design and implement treatment for hearing loss. Audiologists are one of the healthcare professionals with extensive training on the anatomy and physiology of hearing, and are licensed and certified to perform diagnostic hearing tests.

In the past, audiologists were able to practice by holding a master’s degree and appropriate state licensing. However, starting in 2007, all newly graduating audiologists must hold a doctoral degree (Au.D. or Ph.D.) in audiology from an accredited university plus appropriate state licensing in order to practice. They are also certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

What is a hearing instrument specialist?

A hearing instrument specialist (HIS) is a hearing healthcare professional who has obtained their training under the direct supervision of a practicing hearing instrument specialist and has passed the state board's written and practical examinations. They have extensive training in the measurement and interpretation of hearing tests and are licensed by their state to fit and dispense hearing aids. They are sometimes also referred to as a hearing aid dispenser. Some dispensers have a certification from the National Board for Certification of Hearing Instrument Sciences, indicated by NBC-HIS following their name. In order to be nationally certified, the dispenser must attend continuing education courses and successfully pass a national examination.
